Tillhör en samling föremål från Harriet Kjells damfrisering, Uppsala.
Harriet Kjell, född Eriksson 1908 i Husby-Långhundra socken, Uppland, kom från bondefamilj och var äldst av tre systrar. Efter moderns död 1916 sålde fadern gården och startade bussrörelse. Efter en tid flyttade familjen från Åby gård i Husby-Långhundra till Uppsala.
Harriet utbildade sig hos fru Sandblom i Uppsala. (Denna fru Sandbloms efterlevande har varit med och bidragit till Frisörmuseet i Stockholm). Efter utbildningen arbetade Harriet hos Taxén och Stenbergs i Enköping och en kort tid (1930-1931) på Svenska Amerikalinjen. Efter hemkomsten 1931 gifte hon sig med Holger Kjell och de bosatte sig på Östra Ågatan 49 B (idag nr 51) där hon öppnade sin frisersalong i hemmet. Mellan åren 1937-1939, hade Harriet sin damfrisering i en lokal på Bredgränd 3, men när kriget bröt ut behövdes lokalen för militära ändamål och hon tvingades stänga sin verksamhet. 1940 flyttade familjen till Börjegatan 1 A. Harriet blev hemmafru medan dottern Eva (född 1936) var liten. 1957 fick Harriet arbete som timanställd assistent åt forskare på zoologiska institutionen. Hon arbetade med mikroskopiering av små vattendjur och assisterade forskare fram tills dess att de doktorerade.
Harriet Kjell avled 1998.
Gåva den 13 januari 1999 från dottern Eva Kjell-Andersson, Uppsala.
