- Gabriel Paulin utvecklade och patenterade precisionsbarometrar omkring 1920. De kunde användas för att mäta lufttryck med, men eftersom de reagerade snabbt på tryckförändringar var de också lämpliga för mätning av höjdskillnader. Instrument enligt System Paulin utvecklades för ett antal ändamål, som höjdmätare för flygplan eller för kartering. Instrumenten tillverkades av AB C.E. Johansson i Eskilstuna. Detta första exemplar med Paulins uppfinning av ett bandsystem för överföring av rörelsen i aneroidbarometern överlämnades av uppfinnaren till museet.
