Ericsson planerade att lansera surfplattan i USA och i Sverige, Tyskland och England under början av 2001. Företaget meddelade i februari att produkten försenats, delvis eftersom utvecklingen flyttats från Nederländerna till Stockholm, dels att tillverkningen förlagts till Kina. Planen var istället att satsa på mindre marknader i Europa och sälja surfplattan via internetoperatörer.
Vid samma tid utvecklade Sony, 3Com och Microsoft liknande produkter. Ericsson hade i tanken att denna surfplatta skulle bli central styrenhet i hemmet. Tillsammans med Electrolux hade Ericsson bildat företaget E2home för att utveckla teknik för intelligenta hem.
I oktober 2001 annonserade Ericsson att utvecklingen av surfplattor för trådlös surfning stoppats. Företaget var tvunget att minska sina kostnader i samband med att IT-krisen vid denna tid.
Magnus har fått surfplattan av en anställd hos Eriksson. Han har haft den i sin ägo i ca. 10-12 år, men aldrig använt den. Han har också försökt hitta någon dokumentation av den, men eftersom den aldrig nådde marknaden är han osäker att sådant finns.
