These look very much like the sacred Walam Olum or Red Sticks attributed to the indigenous Leni Lenape (Delaware Indian Tribe) of the United States. Could there be an historic connection between these two disparate cultures? I am half Sami, and our family traces its descent from the New Sweden (Nya Sverige / Uusi Ruotsi) colony established by Sweden in 1638 near present-day Wilmington, Delaware, where the Leni Lenape also lived.
