Magnus Blix var faktor i Söderhamn. I Modellsalens reversal är vapnet fört bland Mousqvettor och infanterigevär, svenska, med flintlås, 1699 års ". I Modellkammaren vid Beväringsförrådet fanns 1813 en "Mousqvette, 1699 års med bajonette". I 1759 års rustkammarinventarium över trofeer m. m. finns två stycken "1699 års Infanteri Musqvet", en "1699 års Dito Bajonett", en "1699 års Hiullåsmusqust" och en "1699 års Bajonett". I Artillerimuseum har vapnet alltid kallats "Gevär med flintlås och bajonett m/1699 för infanteriet". Geväret och särskilt bajonetten är särkert ett projekt av Blix. Liknande, för övrigt synnerligen osäkert, bajonettfastsättning var vid denna tid i bruk på sina ställen i Europa (se t.ex AM 4249), men då voro bajonetthylsorna mest fjädrande, vilket den ovan beskrivna ej är. Med undantag av anordningen för bajonettens fastgörande samt det kring pipa och framstock gående bandet är själva musköten fullkomligt lik m/1690 (AM 1932:4074) och m/1696 (AM 1932:4080).
