Text in English: Sculpture with two large griffins, with elongated bodies and powerful wings, holding in their forepaws a royal crown over a male bust. The underside of the crown is portrayed in perspective. The figure represents a young King Gustav II Adolf, with long, flowing hair and his arms outstretched to the sides. The youth is clad in a long-sleeved garment with decorated sleeves, a wide collar and closely fitting buttons. Around his neck he wears a large-linked chain with a round medallion. A diadem, with pendant, sits on his forehead. The griffins and the man are "inserted" in a semicircular framework, the upper semicircular curved border is decorated with a simple cord design between plain edges. The lower part of the frame is slightly curved and at the same time provides a platform for the figures, the male figure gives the impression of supporting himself on this railing. The facing edge of the railing is decorated with small crown-like ornaments which occupy the broader parts of the border - the border has regular curved indentations. The edges of the border are plain and smooth. The griffins'' heads and the crown represent one sculptural part of the upper semicircular frame, which includes the griffins wing-tips. The wing-tips are not co-joined to the heads and crown. The tufts on the griffins'' tails were carved separately and connected with smaller parts of the frame. For further information see the connected parts just mentioned.
