Text in English: Sculpture representing a male figure wearing thorax armour, with a lion''s head decorating the right shoulder. The mantle is draped in rich folds around the neck like a collar. The figure''s head has close-cut, curly hair with side-whiskers. The face is clean-shaven. On the top of the head a crown can be seen. The head and body are slightly turned to the right, while the legs face forward. The upper arms are close to the body with the fore arms stretched forward, although broken just below the elbow. The body rests on the left leg while the right leg is slightly bent. The figure stands on a relatively small plinth decorated with a mask. A label is placed over the mask''s forehead. The letter R can be seen in the middle of the label. The upper part of the back is attached to a board that extends vertically to just above the head when it bends forward at an angle of approximately 45 degrees, and the front of the board is decorated just above the head. The back of the sculpture is not flat but has two different levels in order to facilitate its attachment to the beak-head planking. The flat surfaces make the sculpture look like a step-ladder in profile. The figure and the back piece are carved from one piece of wood while the the two arms and part of the cloak were carved separately. The board over the head and the crown are fragmentary. The plinth is badly damaged and only the letter R can be seen of the name on the label. The figure''s feet, hands and most of the forearms are missing. Otherwise the sculpture is rather well preserved.
