Dörröverstycke.
Skulpterat dörröverstycke med tritoner.
Fyndsammanhang

Text in English: A crown-decked cartouche held by two Tritons. The only "door crest" to be found on the Vasa.
Site location
The sculpture was found inside the main cabin, on the upper gun deck. Unlike most of the other sculptures found on board the vessel, this one is exceptionally well preserved. This is due to the fact that it fell from its original place to lie with the sculpted side downwards in a thick layer of mud and silt on the deck. It showed several traces of the original gilding.
Location on ship
The sculpture appears to have been placed above the door entrance from the helmsman''s cabin, i.e. the steerage, into the main cabin.
Woodcarver is probably Hans Clausink.
