Text in English: Warrior clad in Roman armour, wearing broad-brimmed helmet, probably without plume. A large conch shell can be seen above the head. The figure appears to be draped in a mantle or similar garment, worn at an angle across the chest from the left shoulder and falling into a wide fold over the right leg. The face is bearded. The figure has an odd posture, the head and the upper part of the body are twisted quite dramatically to the right in relation to the back-board, the right shoulder is pressed against the latter. When the back-board is seen in profile, the head and torso of the figure are seen to face forward. The figure is wearing boots. The sculpture is carved from a single piece of wood, except for the arms which are carved separately and attached to the trunk with dowels. The figure is placed in front of a profiled back-board, carved all in a piece with the figure, and with a smooth reverse side, which is drawn forward at the bottom to form a base upon which the figure stands. The base is reduced to a small, thin plate set at a sharp angle. At the top the back-board continues above the heads to form a wide plate-like section over the warriors'' head. The sculpture is severely damaged. The left arm is missing.
