Text in English: Sculpture of a man with beard and long hair, dressed in Roman armour, playing a harp. The man''s head is twisted to the right and he stands with his knees slightly bent, with the leg somewhat obtruding. He is clad in Roman armour of the thorax type, with hanging lambrequin-like simulated leather flaps outside his tunic. He is wearing boot-like footgear with thick, decorated tops. On his head he appears to be wearing a kind of hat or helmet, round which there is an open crown. The beard is lightly curled and the hair falls in curls over his shoulders. His arms are held across his chest and in his hands he is holding a small, triangular, stringed instrument, similar to a small harp, decorated with a swan''s head. The figure stands on a robust base with a triangular profile and ornamented with simple cut tracery. The figure and base are carved from a single piece of wood along with the ''back-board''. The reverse side of the sculpture is smooth and is curved or concave from the foot up to the neck of the man. Here the back section angles up and continues above to cover the top of the man''s head. The sculpture is relatively well preserved. In addition to the general wear there are only a few parts of it, such as the headgear, hands and upper section of the ''back-board'', that are badly damaged.
