Motiv från jubileumsutställningen i Skänninge 1929. Utställningen var en del i 400-årsjubiléet av de stadsprivilegier som Gustav Vasa utfärdat staden. Östergötlands läns hushållsningssällskap förlade årets länslantbruksmöte hit och en parallell konst-, hantverks- och industriutställning som invigdes av kronprins Gustaf Adolf den 20 juni. Bilden visar just det tillfället. I tribunen är kronprinsen omgiven av prins Carl, kronprinssessan Louise, prinssessan Ingeborg av Danmark och prins Eugen.

Karl Johan Stenhardt (1894-1983) genomgick fotografutbildning hos Erik Österberg i Tranås och lät sig därefter att vidareutbilda sig hos Ferdinand Flodin i Stockholm. År 1916 anställdes han som föreståndare för Josef Rödings ateljé i det så kallade Centralpalatset i Linköping. Efter ett antal år blev han av Röding erbjuden att köpa rörelsen och i april månad 1923 inregistrerade Stenhardt sitt egna fotoföretag. Parallellt med ateljén i Centralpalatset drev han en tid fotobutiken Fotocentrum på Storgatan 40. Karl Johan Stenhardts bas utgjordes av porträttfotografering, men han hade även en produktion inom reklam och dokumentation. År 1970 gick han i självvald pension och 1980 överlämnade han sin fotografiska kvarlåtenskap till Östergötlands museum. Samlingen består av omkring 10 000 enskilda negativ.
