Impedimentet med bebyggelselämningar från norr
Under sommaren 2006 genomförde Upplandsmuseet en särskild undersökning inom fastigheten Tillinge-Tibble 4:21 och Mälby 1:5 i Tillinge socken, Enköpings kommun och Uppsala län. Undersökningen berörde lämningar efter två husgrunder, terrasser och stenfria ytor i anslutning till bebyggelsen och en avfallsgrop. Samtliga lämningar återfanns på ett impediment i omgivande åkermark, vilken tidigare tillhört Mälby säteris utmark. Inga uppgifter om bebyggelsen har dock kunnat spåras i äldre kartmaterial.
De två husgrunderna utgjordes av en större byggnad med delvis sänkt golv, ugn och kraftiga stenmurar samt av ett mindre uthus. Den större byggnaden hade vid förundersökningen tolkats som en ekonomibyggnad, troligen ett torkhus eller bastu.Bebyggelsen kunde efter den särskilda undersökningen omtolkas utifrån konstruktion och fyndmaterialet som en bostadsbebyggelse från 1700-talets senare del. Troligen har bebyggelsen utgjort en backstuga på ofri grund och bebotts under dess kortvariga brukning av jordbrukssamhällets lägre sociala skick. Rapporten presenterar därmed ett sällan arkeologiskt undersökt objekt.
