Schwartzman & Nordström startade sin verksamhet redan år 1903 i mycket liten skala i ett gårdshus i centrala Uddevalla. Rörelsen expanderade snabbt och man startade egen tillverkning av herrkonfektion. År 1923 lanserades namnet Tiger (of Sweden) och fabriken blev under mellankrigstiden Skandinaviens största herrkonfektionsproducent.
Tigerfabriken i Kv. Sinclair blev på grund av kriget färdig först år 1949.
Tigerfabriken stängdes den 13 december 1991.

David Almkvist övertog 1927 Maria Lundbäcks fotoateljé i Uddevalla. Firman hette ”Fotograf Almquist, Maria Lundbäcks Eftr., Uddevalla”.
Se affärsskylten på fotografi UMFA54477:0690 från 1931.
1941 flyttade ateljén till Kungsgatan 17.
