Inkom till Upplandsmuseet tillsammans med föremål och arkivalier från A & E Lauréns modehandel och arkivalier gällande L.P. Laurén samt handlingar rörande gården vid Kv. Plantan, Uppsala.
Alma och Elin Laurén var systrar och modister. Verksamheten låg på Järnbrogatan 19, i kvarteret Plantan. De hade sin verksamhet i den gård som fadern köpt (nr 9 och 10, Kv Plantan). Gården låg i hörnan Dragarbrunnsgatan-Järnbrogatan. I huset fanns familjens olika verksamheter. L.P Lauréns speceri- och diversehandeln, L. P. Laurén med adressen Dragarbrunn 16. I samma hus hade också brodern Ivar, köpman till yrket och amatörfotograf, sin ateljé två våningar upp i byggnaden. Ivar Laurén fotograferade bland annat systrarna iförda sina hattkreationer, interiörer och exteriörer från gården i Kv. Plantan samt stadsmiljöer i Uppsala.
Enligt givaren startade de två systrarna Alma och Elin Laurén sin modistverksamhet 1909 och verksamheten pågick till någongång åren 1926-1928. Systrarna bodde och verkade på denna adress och hade också modister anställda i omgångar. En av dessa var Märta Ågren. Systrarna hade två rum för butik och ateljé på nedervåningen, vägg i vägg med L.P. Lauréns affär. En trappa upp fanns ett provrum.
