Cykeln är tillverkad på USA:s äldsta cykelfabrik, The Columbia Bicycle Company, grundat 1877.
Trehjulingen köptes i New York av Eivor Häggs farbror till hans barn, ”kusinerna i Amerika”. Farbrodern var fastighetsskötare i ett stort hyreshus mitt i New York och här användes cykeln i början av 1920-talet. 1931 skickades den över till Eivor i Uddevalla som cyklade på den när hon var liten. Cykeln stod sedan förvarad i Eivors föräldrahem tills det var dags att plocka fram den igen till Eivor och Ralphs barn på 1950-talet. Då målade Ralph om den i rött, originalfärgen var grå. Den har alltid varit mycket omtyckt, stadig och bra att cykla på.
Farbrodern hette Carl Andersen (Andreasson), född i Uddevalla. Han emigrerade till Amerika 1910 och gifte sig med en irländsk kvinna.
