Ur uniform för major i fransk tjänst, Toukin, Frankrike. Består av vapenrock, byxor och mössa. Buren av Martin Teordor Sandell, född 1858, död 1912.
Martin Sandell och hans tvillingbror Henning reste i början av 1880-talet till baron Carl Munck af Fulkila i Finland där de fick tjänst som förvaltare hos general Standertskiöld. De lämnade Finland 1883 och tog värvning i Franska Främlingslegionen och blev stationerade i Tonkin, Vietnam. Martin utmärkte sig där för tapperhet och dekorerades med medalj och steg i graderna till "Inspecteur de la garde indigéne, premierordre", den högste tjänst en icke franskfödd kunde nå. Martins tvillingbror Hennning dog redan 1888 men själv fortsatte Martin i legionens tjänst och sedan som chef för en vietnamesisk brigad i fransk tjänst. Han fick även en tonkinesisk och annanitisk orden. Martin Sandell dog i sviterna av malaria och ligger begravd i Hanoi.
