Briggen Felix om 86 svåra läster eller 49,5 nyläster, byggd 1848, köptes 1856 av handelshuset J. Ringborg i Norrköping och såldes 1869. Mellan åren 1856 och 1862 var sjökapten Olof Magnus Röyter (1813-1883) från Torekov befälhavare. Briggen Felix gjorde sin första resa i Ringborgs tjänst till Medelhavet, Torrevieja på Spaniens östkust, där hon hämtade salt. Resan Norrköping- Torrevieja tur och retur tog nära sex månader. I september gjorde hon en resa till Riga och vidare till London via Le Havre. Den 19 november lämnade hon London för New Port där hon låg och lossade och lastade i fjorton dagar för att därefter gå till Rio de Janeiro med stenkol. Hem från Rio var hon lastad med 2560 säckar kaffe. Kaffe blev en av handelshuset Ringborgs mest lönande importvaror. Sista resan som O. M. Röyter var befälhavare på briggen Felix, seglade han ut med henne från Norrköping i september 1861 lastad med 250 tolfter brädor, järn och tjära för Marseilles. Därifrån gick han på nyårsafton till Yarmouth med oljekakor och åter till Marseilles från Newcastle med stenkol. Från Marseilles seglade han till Lynn (Mass. USA) med oljekakor och därifrån åter till Norrköping.
När Ringborgs långseglande brigg Felix närmade sig Norrköping och slutmålet södra roddartrappan signalerade briggen sin ankomst med kanonskott vid Syltenberget och många nyfikna strömmade till för att hälsa briggen och dess besättning välkommen hem.
