Amanda Nordahls Modeaffär i Vänersborg startade den 23 september 1886. Affären låg från början i Gamla Apotekshuset vid torget (senare Backs Konditori, numera Matthuset). Affären övertogs år 1929 av Anna Dinnétz och år 1941 flyttades den till Edsgatan 17. Affären övertogs den 28 april 1961 av Signe Andersson och Margit Karlsson. Margit Karlsson kom dock att driva affären själv de senaste tio åren. Affären upphörde den 25 februari 1981. Affären stängdes på grund av att huset där verksamheten var skulle rivas och Margit Karlsson som då var 66 år inte orkade starta upp verksamheten igen i ny lokal.
Fram till 1950-talet fanns 4 till 5 modister anställda i ateljén. Modet med hatt avtog dock efter andra världskriget. Högsäsongen var till 1:a maj då alla skulle ha ny hatt.
