Bilden ingår i en serie med diabilder VMGDIG00156-VMGDIG00225. Sune Larsson äger originalen och har till Vänersborgs museum skänkt dessa digitala kopior. Uppgifterna kring bilderna kommer till stor del från Sune Larsson och Conny Jonsson som arbetade tillsammans på bogserbåten Wargön. Conny började arbeta på båten i februari 1964, samma år fyllde han 16 år. Han arbetade som däcksman fram tills han 1967 kallades in till militärtjänstgöring. Sune började arbeta i april 1964. Han var då 25 år och att hade tidigare arbetat med jordbruk. Sune arbetade som motorman fram till augusti 1969.
Mosedragning på Vänern.
Under några decennier i mitten av 1900-talet pågick denna verksamhet med Wargön AB:s båtar Lindås, Rånnum, Wargön, Vargen och Björnen. Virket hämtades främst från Karlstad och Älvenäs, men ett och annat släp kom även från Värmlandsnäs.
Timmermosorna drogs med bogserbåt över Vänern till Vänersborg i 2 knops fart. En resa utan förhinder tog 40 timmar, men ofta fick man söka skydd för dåligt väder. Då fick man trixa in hela ekipaget vid Aspholmen i Lurö skärgård. Där fick man sedan ligga och invänta bättre väder. Ett mossläp var omkring 200 meter långt och bestod av flera med, kätting sammanlänkade, timmerbuntar. Väl framkommen till Vänersborg angjordes hela släpet längs dykdalberna utanför kokhuset vid norra hamninloppet. Därifrån drogs sedan timret i mindre mosor av dom små båtarna Vargen och Björnen genom Karls grav och slussen vid Brinkebergskulle till sin slutliga destination, pappersbruket i Vargön. Vid slutet av 1960-talet tar den relativt korta epoken med mosedragning definitivt slut och lastbilarna tar över.
Bogserbåten Wargön byggdes vid Norrköpings varv 1952 och levererades till Wargöns AB samma år. Wargön var byggd för just timmerbogsering. På vintern körde man lite lättare isbrytning i kanalen, men med den förhållandevis svaga NOHAB-maskinen var det ett styvt jobb att bryta is. 1966 tog Röda bolaget i Göteborg över Wargön, men man hade kontrakt med Wargöns AB för fortsatt timmerbogsering t.o.m. 1969.
1970 försålde Röda bolaget båten och den fick då namnet ”Törefors”. 1980 såldes den till Norge och omnamnades till Lofjord. Runt 2005 finns båten i Haugesund. Oklart om den finns kvar idag 2016.
