Fotot är del av ett fotoalbum som tillhört byggmästare Lars Petter Sten (1853-1941), Enköping, verksam fr.o.m. 1887. Albumet har påkostad utformning och är märkt på framsidan med texten: "Byggmästaren L. P. Sten, 10/8 1900, av erkännsamma arbetare". (Se föremål EM04408). Albumet innehåller 80 st fotografier på byggnadsprojekt som L. P. Sten med sin firma utfört. Därutöver ett porträtt på honom själv samt en gruppbild.
Fotot förmodas vara taget av Enköpingsfotografen Anders Willmanson (1853-1924), då ett stort antal av albumets övriga foton identifierats i Enköpings museums glasplåtssamling efter Willmanson.
På en av dörrarna bakom mannen syns en reklamskylt med text: "Pomril, Alkoholfri Äppeldryck, Aktiebolaget Pomril, Stockholm". Varumärket lanserades under 1906 (ref. Wikipedia m.fl.) varför fotot kan dateras till tidigast det året.
Notis i Enköpings-Posten 1906-02-22 (not: Badhusgatan hette Rådhusgatan vid tiden): "Gårdsköp. Bryggaren Hultgrens sterbhusdelägare ha försålt sin gård vid Rådhusgatan i Enköping (Nya Bryggeriet) till läskedryckfabriken Sveas innehafvare hr Emil Karlsson för 18,000 kr."
Annons i E-P 1906-05-07: "...att jag från och med 1:sta Mars i år öfvertagit Nya Bryggeriet i Enköping och drifver detta bryggeri i förening med Läskedrycksfabriken Svea, Enköping. Rekommenderande mig i allmänhetens välvilliga hågkomst. J. E. Karlsson."
Fastighetens dåvarande beteckning var Norra roten, 3:e kvarteret, 8.
