- Lindholm-Houge, Edvin, 1898-1969, konstnär född i Kalmar och autodidakt. L yrkesarbetade i unga år, men övergick till att helt ägna sig åt konsten. Ivan Hoflund utövade ett betydande inflytande på L under 1930-talet, liksom senare kretsen kring Axel Kargel i Sjöstugan i Borgholm. L utvecklade dock sitt eget sätt att i teckningar, lavyrer och oljemålningar skildra landskap, stadsmiljöer och interiörer. L hade sin styrka i en lyrisk kolorit att jämföra med Carl Kylberg och Karl Isaksson. Ibland talas det om "Kalmarskolan", och där är L ett lysande namn i fotspåren efter Fille Fromén och Ivan Hoflund. 1941 utökar han sitt namn med Houge efter modern för att undvika förväxling med en tavelförsäljare med samma namn i Oskarshamn. L hade en mjukare penselskrift än Kargel och närmar sig stämningen kring Göteborgsmålarna, t.ex. Åke Göransson. Hans samtal blev ofta till monologer. L sägs ha sagt att två skall man vara för ett samtal, tre är redan en för mycket. L tycks ofta arbeta med tre favoritfärger: mörkrött, smaragdgrönt och violett. L:s första separatutställning dröjde till 1957 och ägde rum i Stockholm. Den fick strålande recensioner och L beskrevs som en "intim expressionist". L var även en skicklig skribent som publicerade artiklar i dagspressen och några mindre skrifter. Han var till sin natur skygg och tillbakadrage, närmast en enstöring och bodde i enkla bostäder, bl.a. i ett rivningshus på Tullslätten och sist på Molinsgatan.
