Diabild fotograferad av Helge Hjelm. Helge bodde hela sitt liv i Vänersborg. Han var uppväxt i Nordstan och bodde senare på Norra Järnvägsgatan och efter det på Skansgatan. Helge fotograferade ofta särskilda händelser i Vänersborg som till exempel marknader. Ibland fotograferade han även vyer och miljöer som förlagor till de tavlor han målade.
Helge Hjelm inträdde i Vänersborgs söners gille 1960.
Delar av minnesruna från Vänersborgs söners gilles årsskrift: " Teckningsläraren Helge Hjelm var född i Vänersborgs den 10 december 1908 och avled den 11 mars 1984. Efter avslutad skolgång började han sin bana som lackerare vid dåvarande AB Monsun i Vänersborg. Sin konstnärliga ådra utvecklade han genom självstudier och i mitten av 40-taler fick han anställning som teckningslärare vid Grästorps realskola och grundskola, där han undervisade i teckning, konst och välskrivning. Helge Hjelm var en dugande konstnär som utöver måleriet även ägnade sig åt metallslöjd och fotografering" (1984)
