RAÄ 22 (1974:2431) slutundersöktes under våren och sommaren 2003. Gravfältet visade sig innehålla minst 19 gravar, varav sex domarringar, två rektangulära ofyllda stensättningar, en rest sten/klumpsten och en fylld rektangulär stensättning, minst sju mer eller mindre skadade gravar av oklar typ, troligen i huvudsak ofyllda stensättningar samt två brandgravar som sannolikt anlagts sekundärt till domarringen (A4) respektive den ofyllda stensättningen (A19). Domarringarna var 3,5–5 meter i diameter och bestod av 3–7 stenar, dock saknades stenar i flera av anläggningarna. De ofyllda stensättningarna var ca 1,5–2,5 x 3 meter stora. Det inre gravskicket utgjordes av minst 17 brandgravar (brandlager och brandgropar med och utan urna) och en skelettgrav (A9). Dessutom framkom en härdgrop och ytterligare två brännofferplatser i form av brandlager med djurben innehållande ben från två grisar respektive gris och nöt. Anläggningarna, som kunde dateras till vendel-vikingatid, visar att man återvänt till platsen för någon form av ritual där man medvetet ville knyta an till den äldre begravningsplatsen. Det är möjligt att samtliga brännofferplatser tillkommit vid samma tillfälle, men de kan naturligtvis också spegla en återkommande ritual som ägt rum med flera års mellanrum. I den rektangulära fyllda stensättningen (A9) framkom på ca 0,8 meters djup en skelettgrav. Inget benmaterial var dock bevarat. I graven hittades en järnkniv, en nål, troligen hårnål, samt två ringar i brons. Av deras placering att döma handlar det förmodligen om ringar som suttit på tårna och inte på fingrarna. Endast en av stensättningarna kunde säkert beläggas ha sydport. Gravfältet kan utifrån gravtyper och fynd, men framför allt 14C-dateringar dateras till i huvudsak yngre romersk järnålder – folkvandringstid, det vill säga ca 160–550 e.Kr. En korsformig fibula, dock hittad utanför en grav, anger en folkvandringstida datering, sannolikt dess första del.
Övrig information: Mellan 2001 och 2006 undersöktes tre gravfält, RAÄ 171, 22 och 29, i Torsviks industriområde på tidigare Källarps och Hyltena ägor. De var belägna inom ett avstånd på ca 500 meter och uppskattningsvis har ungefär 70 personer begravts här under kanske tre- fyrahundra års tid, från ca 150-200 till ca 500-600 e.Kr. Fynden i gravarna var inte särskilt märkvärdiga i bemärkelsen ovanliga eller exklusiva. Vanligast var järnknivarna som fanns i de flesta gravarna, oavsett om det var män, kvinnor eller barn som blivit begravna. Det fanns också enstaka bronssmycken (fibulor, nålar, beslag mm), glas- och bärnstenspärlor, rester av lerkrukor, benkammar etc. Störst intresse tilldrog sig olika detaljer i gravarnas konstruktion. T.ex. så hade minst sju av gravarna portkonstruktioner, vinkelställda stenhällar i gravarnas södra kantkedja. Före undersökningarna i Torsvik så hade sådana tidigare observerats på några gravfält i Vaggerydstrakten. I och med Torsviksundersökningarna blev det uppenbart att detta fenomen var ganska vanligt förekommande även i Götaland och inte bara i Mälardalen som man tidigare antagit. Sådana portar har tolkats som porten mellan de levande och de döda.
