Inför planerad bostadsbebyggelse genomfördes arkeologiska undersökningar på Fagerslätt, Stensholm i Hakarps socken, Jönköpings kommun. Arbetet utfördes under hösten 2006. I området framkom bland annat 33 härdar, 4 härdgropar och 2 kokgropar, men även ett antal stolphål och nedgrävningar. Det kunde alltså konstateras att området bl.a. har använts till att göra upp eld men däremot kunde det inte helt klargöras hur eldarna hade använts. Flera av härdarna innehöll ben som har utsatts för höga temperaturer. En del ben var mjöliga i strukturen vilket kan bero på att de har använts som flussmedel vid arbete med metall, keramik eller glas. I en nedgrävning återfanns järnslagg efter smidesverksamhet, men i övrigt noterades inga spår efter järnhantering eller annat hantverk. Fynd av fröer gav belägg för att odling även hade förekommit i närområdet under samma tid. Några spår av bebyggelselämningar kunde däremot inte identifieras. Flera stolphål påträffades men de kunde inte sägas ingå i några huskonstruktioner.
Området har utnyttjats under en period av flera hundra år, men det behöver inte ha använts kontinuerligt. De flesta dateringarna pekar på en period i mitten av romersk järnålder och det är troligen då de flesta aktiviteterna har förekommit på platsen. Ett par dateringar är något tidigare och ett par dateringar hamnar i folkvandringstid.
