- Lone Pedersen från Öllöv ställde sig frågan varför egentligen hästar skos med skor av järn. Hon tyckte att det måste vara obekvämt och skadligt för hästen med järnskor. Lone experimenterade därför med skor av gummi från traktordäck och märkte att hästarna tyckte om de nya skorna. 1993 tog hon patent på en gummihästsko med kärna av stål. Halmstads gummifabrik köpte patentet tre år senare. Vissa problem fanns med produkten inledningsvis, men HGF produktutvecklade och återlanserade hästskorna efter ett två år långt forskningsprojekt i samarbete med veterinärenheten vid SLU. Sedan dess har hästskorna kommit att säljas i ett flertal europeiska länder, samt i Nordamerika, Sydkorea och Australien. År 2000 såldes cirka 60 000 skor.
