Stålställning, som tillsammans med 40 glas på fot, skapar en takkrona, en modern glaskrona. Tillverkare troligen Form Nasielsky, som i sitt produktblad skriver att lampan "Glasklasen" är en svensk konstindustriprodukt. Tillverkningen sker i Småland och glaskronorna finns i tre storlekar, Lillklasen för 16 glas, Glasklasen för 40 glas och Storklasen för 76 dricksglas.
Ställningen såldes utan glas. "Eftersom glas inte ingår avgör varje innehavare av Glasklasen det slutgiltiga utseendet på sin ljuskrona beroende på vilka glas som används". www. nasielsky.se/swe/produkt.php?id=12, 2016-01-28. I reklammaterial från Form Nasielsky och på bilder av takkronan på internet bär den nästan alltid släta glas av klarglas med fot.
Glasklasen beskrivs i produktbladet både som en lampa och som en förvaringsplats för dricksglas på fot. Storleken med 40 glas är avpassad att hänga över ett matbord i ett rum med ca 2,40 m i takhöjd. Tillverkaren rekommenderar att en klar glödlampa, gärna med koltråd, används. Då skapas "ett behagligt allmänljus där reflexer i glasen skapar ljusdagrar och mönster på omgivande ytor i rummet" (källa se ovan). Glasklasen såldes bland annat i butikskedjan DesignTorget.
Säljaren har ärvt kronan av sin svärfar som var företagare och sålde kristallglas. Han använde kronan i företagets utställning av kristallglas från en fransk glasfabrik. När svärfadern gick i pension tog han hem lampan och använde den som kökslampa i sitt hem. "Glasen som hängde i lampan användes som vinglas. Kronan fungerade mycket bra och ansågs väldigt fin och omtyckt. Lampan var en solitär, den var ovanlig och fick väldigt mycket beröm av bekanta och affärsvänner. Den blev som en kristallkrona med glas. Krävde att glasen var rena och fina."
