Christian Preht (1706-1779).
I lära i faderns verkstad i Sthlm, elev hos silversmeden Gustaf Stafhell där 11 jan 23, gesäll 18 jan 27, gesällvandring till bl a England, Frankrike o Tyskland 1727–31, studerade bl a för guldsmeden A Heckel i London 1727–29 o för guldsmederna o ornamentisterna G Germain oj A Meissonnier i Paris, konsthantverkare i Sthlm.
Som guld- och silversmed tillverkade han bl a bordsuppsatser, bestick, snusdosor och urboetter och som juvelerare nipper till kungafamiljen och hovet förutom till borgerskapet. Berikande för P:s konstnärliga verksamhet på 1760-talet blev samarbetet med den nygrundade fajansfabriken vid Marieberg. Han ägnade sig åt modellteckning till terriner och serviser även för porslinsfabriken Rörstrand samt mönsterritning till ostindiskt porslin.
