1994 identifierade Christian Ahlström i Helsingfors efter arkivarbete vraket som skeppet Concordia från Stralsund, som sjönk 1754. Vraket har därför länge kallats så och gör det än i många sammanhang. Idag (2019) anser marinarkeologer det vara mycket tveksamt.
Namnet "Älvsnabbenvraket" kommer från förlisningsplatsen, Älvsnabbens södra udde i Stockholms södra skärgård.
Vraket är mycket välbevarat och skrovet helt. Skeppet var ett tvåmastat tyskt handelsfartyg, en skonert med kravellbyggt skrov som ligger sjunket på 12-17 meters djup. Skrovet är 21 m långt och 5,4 m brett.
Akterdäck är sönderbrutet, kanske av bärgare på 1700-talet.
Älvsnabbenvraket upptäcktes 1968 och grävdes ut 1974-80. Lasten visade sig vara spannmål.
