- Brädspelet hör till en samling av föremål som visades i utställningen Krigsspel på Armémuseum under 2017 och som därefter skänktes till museets samlingar av ägaren Bert Fridlund. Spelet är tillverkat av Games Designers Workshop i USA 1984 och är andra utgåvan av del III i Europaserien, Marita-Merkur. Spelet ukom första gången 1979 och simulerar striderna på Balkan 1940-1941. Europaserien är ett av brädspelshistoriens mest omfattande projekt och bygger på idén om att låta ett större antal fristående spel simulera olika delar av andra världskriget i Europa 1939-1945, samtidigt som alla separata spel ska kunna sättas ihop till ett enda stort spel som omfattar samtliga händelseförlopp under kriget . I originalserien producerades sammanlagt elva spel under åren 1973-1987. Därefter har ytterligare spel och expansioner tillkommit och givits ut av andra tillverkare.
