- Under hösten 2011 utförde Upplandsmuseets arkeologiska avdelning en förundersökning i kvarteret Fältskären i Enköping (raä 26:1-2). Orsaken till undersökningen var Enköpings kommuns planer på exploatering av kvartersmarken. Inom hela undersökningsområdet fanns välbevarade, omfattande och komplexa kulturlager och konstruktioner av urban karaktär. Sammanlagt påträffades 18 huskonstruktioner, varav 14 medeltida hus. Både bostadshus och fähus identifierades liksom intilliggande hantverksmiljöer. Det påträffades spår efter medeltida ben- och hornhantverk, då främst kamtillverkning samt metallhantverk. Fyndmaterialet var relativt omfattande och generellt sett välbevarat. Materialet speglar den tidig- och högmedeltida föremålsfloran väl. Bebyggelsen kan utifrån dendrokronologisk datering, i kombination med stratigrafin och fyndmaterialet, i huvudsak dateras från mitten av 1100-talet till mitten av 1300-talet.
