SJ Dg nr 101 (1940-1966), SJ D (1925-1940), SJ Dg1 (1966-1971).
Den elektriska driften på Västra stambanan (Stockholm-Göteborg) togs i bruk 1926. För trafiken beställde SJ en loktyp littera D, med olika utväxling för snälltåg (100 km/h) och godståg (75 km/h). Från början var korgarna teakklädda, men från 1933 (lok 291) byggdes karossen av stål. Loket är av den första stora huvudtypen av ellok som sattes i trafik på stambanorna. Typen användes under en lång tid genom en stor serie med många efterföljande varianter. Lok 101 är det första loket i den stora D-loksserien och levererades 1925 av Vagn- och Maskinfabriken i Falun med elektrisk utrustning från ASEA i Västerås.
Loket har två motorer som via kugghjul driver en blindaxel. Från denna överförs rörelsen med koppelstänger till de tre drivaxlarna. Den ursprungliga motoreffekten var 660 hk (1220 kw).
SJ Dg nr 101 togs ur trafik först 1971, varpå det renoverades på verkstaden i Malmö till 1940-tals utförande.
Det ankom till Järnvägsmuseum den 22 mars 1972 som verksamt lok i godståget 7532. Sedan dess har det flera gånger använts vid olika jubileumsfiranden.
