Claes Dafgård (född 1966) har fått föremålet från sin far Bengt Dafgårds (1939-2019) dödsbo. Bengt var son till charkuteisten Harry Dafgård (1906-1961) och dennes maka Marta Paulina Olsson (1911-?). Harry drev charkuteributik i hörnet av Kungsgatan och Residensgatan i Vänersborg.
Harrys far var Otto Dafgård (1876-1934), charkuterist. Ottos hustru var Johanna Gustava Olsson (1863-1928). Det var Otto som lät bygga en liten sommarstuga på Fruholmen i Göta älv, nedanför Holmängens Fattiggård. Stugan kallades "Hytta" och var, förutom rekreation för familjen, plats för många festliga tillställningar med Ottos kamrater. Det är till denna vänkrets med handlare i Vänersborg och konstnären Elis Barkstedt som mycket av gåvorna kommer.
Otto Dafgård var son till slatarmästaren Gustaf Wilhelm Dafgård (1844-1910) och hustrun Maria Mathilda Andersson (1843-1906).
Gustaf Wilhelm Dafgård var son till Gustaf Dafgård (1815-1859). Han var hattmakare och senare slaktarmästare. Han var gift med Maria Stina Eriksson (1813-1886), faster till Axel W Eriksson och dotter till slaktaren Erik Eriksson.
På detta vis grundades familjens tradition inom slakeri och charkuteri. Traditionen lever vidare genom företaget Dafgårds i Källby, Götene kommun.
