Dockhuset skapades genom beställning av Anna Davida Amalia Rönne, "Annie" (född Wiman). Själv tillverkade hon en del inredning, dockor och maträtter.
Enligt berättelsen utbildade sig Annie till sjuksköterska på Sophiahemmet i Stockholm. Hon gifte sig med läkaren Fritz Nikolai Rönne. Tillsammans flyttade de till Persien där Fritz arbetade vid svenska gendarmeriet (militär organisation). Endast drygt 7 månader efter bröllopet avled dock Fritz i en infektionssjukdom. Annie ska ha tagit sin mans död hårt och gifte aldrig om sig. Hon fick heller aldrig några barn. Hur länge Annie blev kvar i Persien vet vi inte, men när hon flyttade tillbaka till Sverige kom enligt berättelserna nästa tradegi - barndomshemmet Kråks Herrgård hade sålts.
I den stora sorgen beställde Annie ett dockskåp som en kopia av Kråk. Själv skapade hon en del inredning, dockor och maträtter. Dockorna namngav hon enligt vad som berättats till familjemedlemmarnas och tjänstefolkets namn. Inredningen moderniserades med åren.
Annie fick aldrig några egna barn. Därför skänkte hon dockskåpet till sin kusins dottersbarn. Kusinens dotter Berit tyckte dock att huset var för fint för att lekas med. Därför ställdes det undan.
Under flera år lånades dockhuset ut till Berits bror Jonas som hade ett leksaksmuseum i Ljung i Östergötland. Då museet inte längre skulle drivas kontaktade syskonen Västergötlands museum och dockhuset kom som gåva till Skara under sommaren 2017.
