Huset till vänster är Kochska huset och ligger i kvarteret Koch, byggdes av majoren Mikael Koch år 1859. Var son till assessor Jöns Koch o Margareta Simzon (1686-1768).
Lindarna kring Bäveån planterades och bekostades 1845 genom Mikael Kochs försorg. Han var även Uddevallas mest lysande borgmästare genom tiderna. Så här skriver Georg Karlsson i "Glimtar ur Uddevallas stads historia". "Den 31 augusti 1747 utnämndes brukspatron Jöns Kochs son Mikael Koch till borgmästare i staden efter Lars Silentz.
Han förenade ett aristokratiskt yttre med god utbildning och fin talekonst och blev utan stridigheter samhällets "primus inter pares" (främste bland likasinnade). Men Koch var ej endast stadens store man, han gjorde sig även ett namn inom rikspolitiken och blev en av Hattpartiets ledande män inom borgarståndet".

Kochs hus är uppfört i två våningar med rikt artikulerade och symmetriskt uppbyggda fasader, uppdelade genom mitt- och sidorisaliter.

Huset till höger Kullgrenska huset i kvarteret Bagge byggdes som bostad och kontor under 1860-talet för Granitaktiebolaget C A Kullgrens enka av Carl August Kullgren, som grundade stenindustri år 1842. Det är ett av stadens stånsmässigt uppförda borgarhus och byggdes om år 1909 efter ritningar av arkitekt Arvid Bjerke, Göteborg.
