Bostadsområde på Tureborgsvägen.
Det stora behovet av bostäder i samband med varvets etablering skapade grogrund för fastighetsspekulation i stor skala. En privat byggmästare köpte in hela de markområde, som idag benämns Tureborg och som ursprungligen tillhörde Ture Malmgren, för att uppföra flerbostadshus. Stockholmsarkitekten Georg Scherman utförde såväl stadsplaneförslag som ritningsförslag för de enskilda byggnaderna. För att undvika för hög exploatering av enskild byggherre fördelades området av kommunen så att den private byggmästaren fick bebygga två tredjedelar av planområdet, medan den nybildade bostadsstiftelsen Uddevallahem skulle stå för den återstående tredjedelen.
I Tureborg användes medvetet en blandning av byggnadstyper. Här uppfördes s.k. Y-hus, som kombinerar genomgående lägenheter men en ytekonomisk planlösning, som medger att tre lägenheter kan nås från samma trapphus. Utformningen hade redan 1944-46 genomförts i Stockholmsområdet och kom att bli både det första och enda i Uddevalla.
Tureborg planerades enligt 1940- och 50-talens idéer om grannskapsenheter med varierad bebyggelse kring en centralt belägen affärsanläggning. Bebyggelsen uppfördes på terrasser i landskapet och många huskroppar har anpassats till den kuperade terrängen på ett okonventionellt sätt. Samtliga hus i området har varit putsade i gröna, rödbruna och gula färgtoner.
Den del av bebyggelsen som är belägen längst i söder, dvs. tiovåningshusen har under början av 1980-talet klätts med fasadplåt.
