Pressglas serien Turbin eller Bambu som de också har kallats, efter den franska föregångarna Bambou från Baccarat, har tillverkats både av Reijmyre och av Eda glasbruk. Denna Turbinserie var mycket populär och har bland annat sålts vid NK (Nordiska Kompaniet).
Pressglastekniken utvecklades i Amerika runt år 1820-30, till Sverige kom tekniken med teknikern Fredrik Brusewitz. Reijmyre glasbruk var det första glasbruket att år 1936-37 införskaffa den nya maskinella utrustningen för framställning av pressglas.
Pressglaset blev till en början mycket populärt bland de högre klasserna som genom dessa glas visade sin öppenhet för nya tekniker och moderna föremål. Men då massproduceringen tog fart, framförallt under 1940-talet, och långa serier började produceras till betydligt lägre kostnader än det drivna glaset kom pressglaset att bli en ägodel som fanns i de flesta hem oavsett samhällsklass.
Inom den svenska pressglastillverkningen dominerade Reijmyre, Kosta och Eda glasbruk. 1903 bildade dessa tre glasbruk ett samarbete genom Aktiebolaget De Svenska Kristallglasbruken för att effektivisera marknadsföring och försäljning.
