Sockerbruket i Uddevalla köptes och drevs av Jacob Trahn mellan åren 1834 - 1855, ny ägare Robert Bley mellan 1855 - 1858 och därefter under ytterligare några år drevs bruket av William Thorburns söner. Firman tillverkade sockertoppar och sirap av råsocker som importerades till Sverige (detta är före betsockrets tid) och hade aldrig mer än tiotalet anställda.
Höganäs Museum kommenterar i september 2015:
Bolagets kärlfabrik hade en stor tillverkning av specialprodukter för industriändamål och liknande. Vi kan nämna karamellformar och apotekskärl, ölflaskor, värmeflaskor och sockertoppsformar. Någon ingående dokumentation om dessa tror jag inte finns. Troligen fick man specifikationer från kunden. Stawfordska sällskapet har ju en del äldre dokumentation från Bolagets historia, så kanske där kan finnas någonting, i form av beställningar och specifikationer för diverse föremål.
