Uppgifter om fröken Gulli Kleberg, Uddevalla, i boken "Västsvenska kvinnor och hem," utgiven av Georg Eneroth, 1946, s. 299: Gulli Kleberg, född i Skaftö den 29 juni 1897. Dotter till framlidne häradsskrivaren John Kleberg och hans framlidna maka fru Karin Kleberg, född Andersson. Utexaminerad från Johanna Brunsons vävskola. Föreståndarinna för Hemslöjdsföreningens vävskola i Uddevalla.

Promemoria angående fröken Gulli Klebergs vävskole- och hemslöjdsverksamhet, upprättad av hennes broder Gillis Kleberg i april 1964.
Innan jag når in på Gulli Klebergs verksamhet, är det på sin plats att något vidröra bakgrunden därtill. Hennes faster, fröken Bertha Kleberg, hade under en lång följd av år bedrivit ett intensivt arbete bl.a. för att återfinna och återuppliva den bohusländska nationaldräkten, som vid sekelskiftet torde ha varit ej blott helt ur bruk utan praktiskt taget glömd. Efter Bertha Klebergs död år 1921 har David Arill i en uppsats i boken "Bohuslänska folkminnen. Studier och uppteckningar" någorlunda fullständigt redogjort för hennes forskningsarbete - kopia bifogas - och här torde blott vara att tillägga att bohusdräkten finns på Nordiska Museet i ett exemplar av kvinnodräkten och ett av mansdräkten, båda skänkta av Bertha Kleberg, samt att hon även bedrev vävskola i Uddevalla. Ett annat exemplar av bohusdräkten har nyligen skänkts till samma museum av Gulli Kleberg för att visa huru kvinnodräkten numera vanligen ter sig. En del andra textilföremål med eller utan samband med bohusdräkten finns också på museet, skänkta av Bertha Kleberg eller fru Karin Kleberg, Gulli Klebergs moder.
Bertha Klebergs verksamhet kunde genomföras delvis, för att ej säga huvudsakligen, genom häradsskrivare John Klebergs ekonomiska bistånd. Han, Gulli Klebergs fader, bildade på sin tid - sannolikt 1913 - Göteborgs och Bohus läns Hemslöjdsförening, som - efter hans död 1942 förpuppad - drev en omfattande verksamhet med bl.a. fast vävskola i Uddevalla, ambulerande vävkurser ute i bygderna och utställningar. Dessa senare var ofta mycket omfattande och anordnades på olika platser i Bohuslän, oftast i samband med Hemslöjdsföreningens årsmöten samt särskilt ordnade hembygdsfester och spelmansstämmor och dylikt. Med John Klebergs stigande ålder och bl.a. på grund av hemslöjdsverksamheten uttömda resurser upphörde dessa utställningar, sannolikt något av de sista åren före andra världskriget.
Till Hemslöjdsföreningens verksamhet, som senare utökades med ett mindre försäljningsmagasin i Uddevalla, knöts tidigt Gulli Kleberg efter erhållen grundlig utbildning vid Johanna Brunsons vävskola i Stockholm, nu nedlagd men på sin tid den mest välkända i landet. Liksom tidigare Bertha Kleberg ….
