En torskvinda.
Vindan påträffades i tunna fyndnummer 18669, tillsammans med ett flertal föremål.
Vindan är en del av ett så kallat handsnöre, ett medeltida fiskredskap som användes vid torskfiske. Handsnöre kan även benämnas torsksnöre. Ett annat namn för vinda är revträ (Tryserum sn, Småland), medan rev kan kallas revsnöre eller torskrev (Fårö sn, Gotland).
Ett handsnöre består i sin helhet av en vinda samt en rev med järnkrok och blysänken. Reven kan vara upp till 60 m lång. Kroken är ibland försedd med en 50-80 cm lång tageltafs. Tafs av beständigt material,
t. ex. tagel, saknas på fiskedonen från Vasa. Kanske har istället reven varit tvinnad dubbel, ett stycke närmast kroken. Det större sänket, fyndnummer 18267, som tillhör vindan fyndnummer 18266 är avlångt och utfört av rullad och hamrad blyplåt. Genom en hålförsedd läderrem, som trätts genom ett hål i sänkets ena ände, står sänket i förbindelse med reven. Sänket är fästat i närheten av den punkt på reven där tafsen eller revens tvinnade del begynner. Även mindre sänken har ursprungligen varit fastklämda på reven. Dessa sänken består av blyplåt rullad runt tågvirke. Reven i sin tur läggs upp på själva vindan.
Handsnöret var, trots sin begränsning vad gäller antalet krokar, ett effektivt redskap och kunde ge stora fångster. Fisket bedrevs på över 20-60 meters djup. Agnet utgjordes med fördel av en bit strömming. Fiskaren lät reven löpa ut över relingen tills sänket nått botten. Då halade man in en halv meter och höll sedan den betade kroken i ständig rörelse genom ryckningar i reven.
