De bohuslänska jullarna är öppna båtar med brett förskepp och akterspegel. De har använts både till segel och rodd. De kraftigaste jullarna användes vid djupvattenfiske medan de som endast användes i skärgården var lite mindre och klenare. De populära fritidssegelbåtarna J10, J14, J18 och J22 har alla den bohuslänska jullen som förlaga.
J18 är en konstruktionsklass, där varje båt har sin egen ritning. Museets J18, nummer 66 är konstruerad av Tage Hellman i Göteborg. Hon är byggd på Svinevikens båtvarv 1944. Under kriget byggdes Långedragsjullar på Västkusten för export till motorfirman "Trim" i Stockholm.
Till båten hör en utombordsmotor, Segull Century 100, motornummer LLSL2283C6, tillverkad 1966, 102 cc, 3-4 hk, lång rigg
