Fotot är del av ett fotoalbum som tillhört byggmästare Lars Petter Sten (1853-1941), Enköping, verksam fr.o.m. 1887. Albumet har påkostad utformning och är märkt på framsidan med texten: "Byggmästaren L. P. Sten, 10/8 1900, av erkännsamma arbetare". (Se föremål EM04408). Albumet innehåller 80 st fotografier på byggnadsprojekt som L. P. Sten med sin firma utfört. Därutöver ett porträtt på honom själv samt en gruppbild.
Fotot förmodas vara taget av Enköpingsfotografen Anders Willmanson (1853-1924), då ett stort antal av albumets övriga foton identifierats i Enköpings museums glasplåtssamling efter Willmanson.
Notis i Enköpings-Posten 1899-11-07: "Egendomsköp. Byggmästaren L. P. Sten härstädes har till modellsnickaren K. E. Viman för ett pris af 18,000 kr. försålt sin i år nybygda gård vid Kryddgårdsgatan härstädes. Köparen erhöll i går lagfart å egendomen." Tidpunkten överensstämmer med i kyrkoarkiv angiven inflyttning i fastigheten för familjen Wiman.
Utdrag från Institutet för språk och folkminnens ortnamnsregister (1949): "Gurkfjärdingen ghs, Enköpings stad, Ups. l. Skämtsamt namn av att huset byggts utav Västeråsbor (Västerås kallas skämtsamt "Gurkan". Jfr. Enköping = "Pepparroten"!)". Åsyftningen kan gälla det faktum att Karl Emil Wiman (1859-1916) med familj bott i Västerås en period närmast före det att de kommit till Enköping.
Byggnaden totalförstördes i en brand den 20 september 1968, ref. E-P 1968-09-21.
