1903: Gick hon av stapeln vid varvet J. Reid & Co i Glasgow och fick namnet MNEME som är en förkortninga av Mnemosne, minnets gudinna i den grekiska mytologin. Beställare var rederiet B. Wencke & Söhne i Hamburg
1906: Bytte hon ägare två gånger. Först till Reederei -A.-G von 1896 och 10 månader senare till Reederei F. Laeisz, båda från Hamburg. Som brukligt var i det senare döptes hon om till ett P-namn, POMMERN, och seglade för detta rederi till första världskrigets slut.
1923: Efter första världskrigets slut delades den tyska handelsflottan mellan segermakterna varvid Grekland erhöll POMMERN som krigsskadestånd. Den åländske redaren Gustaf Erikson fick reda på att hon låg i Delfiz i Holland till salu. Han sände en kontrollant för att se på fartyget och ägarbytet var ett faktum. POMMERN hamnade under finsk flagg.
1939: POMMERN gör sin sista resa från Hull i England till Mariehamn och hinner hem innan andra världskriget bryter ut. I Mariehamn blir hon liggande nästan hela kriget.
1944: Hon bogseras till Stockholm för att bli spannmålsmagasin
1945: Efter freden mellan Finland och Ryssland bogserades hon till Åbo där lasten lossades varefter hon bogseras hem till Mariehamn igen.
1947: Gustaf Erikson avlider. POMMERN är till salu, men är gammal och sliten och kräver dyra repartioner för att kunna segla, dessutom börjar segelfartygens era vara förbi.
1952/ 1953: Edgar Erikson och systern Eva Hohentahl beslutar att donera fartyget till Mariehamns stad.
1984: Beslöts att gamla sk Cap Hornare skulle sy ett nytt segel till fartyget för att dokumentera segelsömmarhantverket. POMMERNS SEGELSÖMMARE var ett faktum.
1999: Ett segel blev flera. Ett komplett segelställ om 28 segel överlämnades till Mariehamns stad från stolta segelsömmare.
2003 POMMERN fyllde 100 år.
