Martin Wiberg konstruerade denna räknemaskin, som är till för att räkna ut och trycka logaritmtabeller. Tabellerna var viktiga i all verksamhet där man gjorde manuella beräkningar och kunde hämta tidigare beräknade värden till dessa. Uppfinningen går tillbaka på Charles Babbage "the Difference Engine", förslag till en beräkningsmaskin som han presenterat 1821. Den kom inte till stånd men principerna användes av Georg Scheutz i Sverige som kunde göra en prototyp för att trycka tabeller. Wiberg i sin tur brevväxlade med Babbage om konstruktionen av denna maskin, som var klar 1875.
Fotot på en bok visar ett exemplar av en logaritmtabell med Wibergs dedikation till John Ericsson. Boken inköptes till museet år 1945 .
