Fartyget GREENLAND levererades i december 2015 från holländska varvet Ferus Smit till JT Cement. Fartyget ska huvudsakligen frakta cement från norra Tyskland till Danmark, Sverige och Norge, men även flygaska, slagg och liknande produkter.
Fartyget har en s.k. dual fuel motor, d.v.s. en gasdriven motor som tankas med LNG. LNG (liquefied natural gas) är naturgas som omvandlats till flytande form för transport eller förvaring. LNG går fortfarande inte att bunkra överallt, liksom tankarna behöver vara mycket stora. Därför behöver maskineriet kompletteras med en MGO-driven motor också (Marine Gas Oil).
Även lasthanteringssystemet på Greenland är speciellt. Lossning sker pneumatiskt (med tryckluft) via en eller två slangar mellan fartyget och en mottagningsenhet på land. Lasten pumpas ut med tryckluft med hjälp av fartygets lansthanteringsutrustning. Man trycker in luft som gör att cementen blir viskös och flyter till en central sugpunkt varifrån man pumpar i land det. Maximal lossningskapacitet är 500 ton/timme.
Lastning kan göras antingen pneumatiskt eller med tyngdkraft. Maximal lastingskapacitiet är 600 ton/timme (pneumatiskt) respektive 700 ton/timme (mekaniskt).
LNG-tanken kommer från det holländska företaget Cryonorm och är ihopbyggd i Indien. Självlossningssystemet har utvecklats inom Kristian Gerhard Jebsen-koncernen.
