Katja of Sweden var Sveriges första klädskapare av internationell betydelse och räckvidd, kanske till och med mer populär i USA än hemma. Med sin djärva nyskapande design blev Katja of Sweden till ett begrepp för praktiska, bekväma och lättskötta kläder av modernt snitt och av hög kvalitet. Hennes modekreationer i samarbete med MMT från mitten av 1950-talet till mitten av 70-talet är numera legendariska. Ur det generösa erbjudandet har 15 outfits valts ut, baserat på representiva plagg för Katja of Sweden, med datering 1960-70 talen vilka demonsterar designerns djärva färger och mönster och hennes samarbete med MMT men också konstnärer som Carl Johan de Geer och Viola Gråsten.

Givaren till museet använde alla plaggen privat. Hon arbetade i affär som sålde dom, samt har mannekängat i sin ungdom. De plagg i större storlek har använts av givarens mamma.
