"Christian Dior var det första modehuset att sälja glasögon under "licence" på 1960-talet. Wilhelm Anger av österrikiska glasögonföretaget Viennaline fick rättigheter att tillverka Diors glasögonlinje mellan 1966-1969. Under tidigt 1970-tal var Dior den första lyxlinje att tillverkas av Optylplast för Viennaline. Optyl var den perfekta material för tredimensionella glasögonbågar. Optylkompaniet tillverkade ungefär tolv nya modeller till Christian Dior 1982. Italienska företaget Safilo Group köpte rättigheter till Carrera (ett till Anger-ägt företag) samt Christian Dior 1996 och sedan dess har Dior marknadsföras endast under enkelnamnet "Dior". I en intervju från 2005, Vision2020 magasin citerade Anger: 'han tyckte att avtalet med Dior var en nyckelsteg i elevating glasögon till en hög-modeassessor. För att sälja glasögon som assessorer, vi behövde kände varunamn.'"
