Ostkustbanans vänner 1987-2016
Vagnen är tillverkad av Gothaer Waggonfabrik AG i Gotha, Thüringen 1926. Totalt nio vagnar av denna typ tillverkades, varav tre stycken finns bevarade på Järnvägsmuseet. (Se även Jvm 21830, OKB BCo 58 och OKB BCo 51.) I vagnarna fanns ursprungligen 24 platser i första klass fördelat på fyra kupéer, samt 45 sittplatser i tredje klass fördelat på två salonger samt toalett i båda ändar. Ostkustbanan (OKB) var den enda bana som fullt ut satsade på stålvagnar. Redan till öppningen 1927 fanns en stor vagnsflotta. OKB:s boggivagnar gick i trafik även ner till Stockholm där de fick smeknamnet "pansartåget". SJ tog över redan 1933 och vagnarna blev bruna och fick SJ litt BCo6b och vagnen fick nummer 2975. År 1956 blev vagnarna omlittererade till litt ABo6b. År 1959 byggdes 2971 och 2975 om från ABo6b till ABo6c. De fick då nya gavelpartier på taket samtidigt som första och andra klass bytte plats. Det blev då fyra andra klass kupéer och två första klass salonger istället. 2971 och 2975 slopades i mitten av 1980-talet. Vagnen har fått en förmodad grön OKB-kulör, men en del källor säger att vagnarna ursprungligen var gråa.
BCo 55 och BCo 58 (Jvm 20830) representerar Sveriges första kompletta stålvagnståg, som dessutom med sin gröna färg var något speciellt för sin tid. Vagnarna representerar tidigt stålvagnsbyggande efter tysk modell, där exteriören fortfarande känns igen efter trävagnarnas drag. Dessa kom att bilda skola för stålvagnar mellan 1921 och 1928. Vagn 58 (Jvm 20830) är i mest originalskick. Ursprungligen hade vagnarna insvängda takgavlar, dragspelsbälgar och 07-boggier.
Vagnen har tillhört Ostkustbanans vänner från 1987 där den återställdes till OKB-utförande avseende färgsättning och littrering och ingick i "OKB-tåget". Utvändigt är den delvis återställd i nära ursprungsutförande med moderniserad inredning från 1950- och 1970-talen. Vagnen är ombyggd till ”SJ-profil”, inredning omgjord till tredje klass och första klass.
