Johan B. Holte (1915-2002) var generaldirektør i Hydro fra 1967 til 1977. Han var utdannet sivilingeniør i kjemi ved NTH i Trondheim (1938) og arbeidet blant annet som laboratoriesjef i AS Freia.
Fra 1948 var han ansatt i Hydro. Han var sjef for kjemisk avdeling ved Notodden Salpeterfabrikker og fra 1957 til 1966 var han direktør for Forskningsetaten i selskapet. Fra 1964 til 1966 var han også assisterende generaldirektør i selskapet.I Holtes tid som generaldirektør ble Odd Narud og Torvild Aakvaag utnevnt som ass. generaldirektører. Narud ble Holtes etterfølger (1977-84) og deretter Aakvaag (1984-91).
Etter ti år som generaldirektør var Holte selskapets styreformann fram til 1985, før han rundet av sitt mangeårige virke for Hydro som spesialrådgiver for generaldirektøren. I tillegg ivaretok han en rekke styreverv på selskapets vegne.
Han var gift med kunstmaleren Eva B. Holte (1922-1993). Holte var født og vokste opp på Notodden, der hans far Peder Olaus Holte (fra Skogn) var politibetjent, likningssjef og rådmann. Johan Berthins mor var Lorentze Indorff fra Bamble.
