Kurt Dejmo (1919 - 2009)
Konstnären Kurt Dejmo var målare, tecknare och fotograf. Under åren 1943 - 1945 var han elev hos Isaac Grünewald i Stockholm, och han studerade även i Paris. I Stockholm träffade han sin livskamrat, Ulla-Britta Emitslöf-Dejmo, också hon konstnär.
Paret bosatte sig senare i Uddevalla.
1954 blev Kurt Dejmo inbjuden att ha en separat på Modern konst i hemmiljö, ett galleri som låg på Strandvägen i Stockholm. Galleriet drevs av fru Lindström, som var en mycket driftig kvinna. "Hon kände alla tanter på Östermalm", berättade Kurt. Hennes specialitet var att lansera yngre konstnärer, ofta unga Göteborgsmålare. I tidskriften "Svenska hem i ord och bilder" kunde man läsa: "Vad man framför allt fängslas av på Kurt Dejmos utställning i Modern Konst i Hemmiljö var den personliga koloriten." På samma galleri hade hans hustru debuterat bara några år tidigare.
Kurt Dejmo är representerad på Nationalmuseum, i Gustav VI Adolfs samlingar samt hos flera landsting och kommuner. Han har också utfört ett tiotal monumentala, offentliga arbeten i skolor, kyrkor, banker, bibliotek. På Bohusläns museum finns delar av den offentliga utsmyckning som han gjorde för Uddevalla Sparbank 1965. Det är två reliefer, en i trä samt en i järn och glas.
