Detta är den ena av två stolar som troligen kommer från Gullmarsbergs säteri och tillhört Rutger von Ascheberg, jfr. UM002553. Karl XI säges ha varit varmt fäst vid Ascheberg, mycket på grund av att han var en av de få som ännu var i livet och hade varit i kungens fars, Karl X Gustafs tjänst. Han tillbringade många resor, jakter och möten i Aschebergs sällskap. Karl XI, svensk kung 1660 - 1697.
Förvärvad från Lechard Wesslau år 1862, brukspatron på Gullmarsbergs Säteri som vid den tiden ägdes av Gustafsbergs barnhem, Uddevalla. Säteriet hade genom testamente donerats till dem av Anders Knape och hans hustru Christina Hegardt år 1786.
Lechard Wesslau (f.1815) startade som brukspatron och slutade sitt liv som fattighjon i Göteborg. Han finns upptagen i Sveriges befolkning år 1890 som boende "å Fattighuset intagne understödstagare, Göteborgs Christine.
